Graduate Medical Education

Graduate Medical Education is a major focus of Partners and its teaching institutions. Partners continues a long tradition of educating outstanding physicians, many of whom play leadership roles in all areas of medicine and health care.

Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, McLean Hospital, and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital are teaching affiliates of Harvard Medical School. Newton-Wellesley Hospital and North Shore Medical Center, as Partners community hospitals, offer additional training programs and rotations that complement offerings at the academic medical centers and specialty hospitals.

Continuing Professional Development

Our Office of Continuing Professional Development is committed to improving quality patient care through excellence in learning opportunities that address effective, compassionate and safe patient care.Partners HealthCare is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education (CME) for physicians.

MGH Institute of Health Professions

MGH Institute of Health Professions is the only degree-granting affiliate of Partners HealthCare. MGH Institute of Health Professions is an innovative and interprofessional graduate school with post-baccalaureate, direct entry-level master’s and doctorate, and post-professional programs in nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, physician assistant studies, speech-language pathology, health professions education, and a PhD in rehabilitation sciences.
