At Partners HealthCare, we know the importance of research and innovation cannot be overstated. Virtually every treatment, test, drug, or medical device in use today is the result of successful research from the past.

We stand on the shoulders of great men and women – scientists, investigators, doctors, and nurses – who have contributed to our ability to offer more impressive care than ever before.

Clinical Trials

Clinical trials are research studies involving humans. Many entail new treatments and techniques for addressing various diseases, illnesses, and health conditions. Others may require only data collection by questionnaire and a simple cheek swab. Hundreds of active clinical studies and trials are in progress across Partners institutions.

The Partners HealthCare Clinical Trials website is a collaborative clinical research study listing. The site identifies actively recruiting clinical research studies and trials taking place at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, McLean Hospital, and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Network

RSVP for Health

The Research Study Volunteer Program, RSVP for Health, is a registry of individuals interested in clinical research at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Volunteers register with RSVP for Health and are then contacted when researchers would like to work with them on their research projects. Volunteers may designate themselves as healthy volunteers or may select specific therapeutic areas of interest. Register with RSVP for Health.

Partners HealthCare Biobank

The Partners HealthCare Biobank is a large research program designed to help researchers understand how people’s health is affected by their genes, lifestyle, and environment. This large research data and sample repository provides access to high-quality, consented blood samples to help foster research, advance our understanding of the causes of common diseases, and advance the practice of medicine.
